One Rescued, One Missing After Fishing Boat Sinks In Santa Barbara Channel

Posted on Saturday, February 27, 2016 12:45am

The search is continuing for a person reported missing after a commercial fishing boat sank in the Santa Barbara Channel.

The boat went down around 4 p.m. Friday, about 17 miles southeast of Santa Barbara.  A passing boat rescued one person, but a second is still unaccounted for, and is the focus of a search.  The Coast Guard dispatched helicopters and boats to search for the missing person.

There’s no word on what led to the sinking of the boat.
