Central Coast Biologist Gets Fellowship For Ocean Conservation Research

A Central Coast university biologist has received a $150,000 fellowship for her ocean conservation research efforts in the Western Indian Ocean.

Jennifer O’Leary is a biologist at Cal Poly’s Center for Coastal Marine Sciences.  She received a Pew Fellowship in Marine Conservation, which will help her continue her research for the next three years.  O’Leary studies are focused on issues facing sea stars, Dungeness crabs, and eelgrass.
