Heart Attack, Stroke Risk For Women Often Overlooked; Event In Ventura County Focuses Attention On It

They cause more deaths among women every year in the U.S. than all types of cancer combined, yet many people think of them as health risks for men.

In fact, statistics show that women are more likely to call 9-1-1 for someone else they think is having a heart attack, or stroke than for themselves.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco talks with a heart attack survivor, and a stroke specialist about this often overlooked threat facing women.
