Plan To Try To Protect South Coast Community Against New Rock, Mud, Debris Slides Approved

Everyone is talking about what El Nino might mean for the Central and South Coasts, but perhaps nowhere is concern higher than Camarillo Springs.

The community off of Highway 101 in Camarillo is just below mountains stripped bare by a huge 2013 brush fire.  More than a dozen homes have already been destroyed, or damaged by slides.

KCLU’S Lance Orozco reports the City of Camarillo is trying to move ahead with efforts to shore up protection against new damage.
