SB 788 Proposes Protections For Tranquillion Ridge, Off Of Northern Santa Barbara County

The last area of the California coast under state control where new oil, and gas drilling could potentially occur is in Santa Barbara County.

Efforts to protect it have been defeated in the state legislature.  But, in the wake of last May’s Refugio State Beach oil spill, some believe there may be enough new support to pass a preservation plan.
