Ventura County Animal Shelters Swamped In Wake Of Fourth Of July

Posted on Friday, July 10, 2015 12:01am

It’s been the busiest week ever for some South Coast animal shelters.

Ventura County’s two facilities have been flooded with dogs and cats, some of which are runaways scared away from their homes by Fourth of July Fireworks.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports this morning from Camarillo, where animal control staff and volunteers are trying to cope with the largest numbers of animals they’ve ever had at the shelter.
