Ventura County’s efforts to help homeless dogs and cats hit a milestone, with the county’s shelters reaching a long sought no-kill status in 2014.

Some new programs have helped by making the animals more adoptable.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports a number of efforts are aimed at helping dogs.
