Federal Agency Studied Potential For Mudslides In Camarillo Springs, But Preventative Work Wasn’t Funded

Posted on Thursday, December 18, 2014 12:24am

A Ventura County community hit hard by mud, and rockslides got a break yesterday, when heavy rain passing through the region missed it.

An effort is underway in Camarillo Springs to try to protect the hundreds of homes there against slides from future storms.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports this morning from the hard hit community, which has 16 destroyed, or heavily damaged homes, and 80 more consider to be at high risk from additional slides.
