Pismo Preserve Project Escrow Expected To Close Next Month, Permamently Protecting Scenic Ranchland

Posted on Thursday, August 28, 2014 3:35pm

Organizers of an effort to buy, and preserve a 900 acre ranch in the hills above Pismo Beach for public use say escrow will close on the deal next month.

The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County spearheaded the campaign to raise the nearly $12 million dollars to buy the property.

The deadline was the end of this month, but they met the goal on Tuesday.

San Luis Obispo County Supervisors had previously committed $1.1 million dollars towards the purchase of the Pismo Preserve, but kicked in another $400,000 to get the campaign to its goal.

Conservancy officials say with the deal in place, they’ll now focus on planning trails, parking areas, and other amenities to get the scenic ranch open for public use.
