Brush Fire Burning In Northern Santa Barbara County; No Structures Threatened

Santa Barbara County firefighters, as well as firefighters from other agencies are battling a five to ten acre brush fire burning in the Harris Grade area, northeast of Lompoc.

The fire broke out just after 4 p.m., sending up a huge plume of smoke visible for miles.

No structures are reported to be in danger.

Harris Grade Road has been closed as a result of the blaze.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department Captain David Sadeki says six air tankers, and a helicopter have been ordered to help fight the fire.

The cause of the blaze is unknown.
