Satellite Launch From Central Coast Still Appears To Be A Go This Morning

Posted on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 12:30am

It looks like a go this morning for the launch of a satellite from the Central Coast.

United Launch Alliance is scheduled to launch an Atlas V rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base today, carrying the Worldview 3 satellite.

It’s a multi-payload satellite, which has the ability to gather some of the highest definition images available for civilian use.

The launch window opens at 11:30 this morning, and depending on the weather at launch time, the rocket could be visible through much of the region.
