A more than six decade old building on the Central Coast which has served as one of the central meeting places for a community reopened after the weekend, nearly a year after being hit by fire.
The Santa Ynez Valley Grange Hall held an open house yesterday to celebrate its reconstruction.
An accidental fire last September blamed on the building’s piping heavily damaged the Alamo Pintado road building.
A fundraising campaign, and insurance covered the costs of rebuilding.
The effort included a number of upgrades, with new floors and ceilings, and a modern commercial grade kitchen.
The building has been used for everything from Rotary Club meetings to holiday celebrations.
