Federal Goverment Awards More Than $8 Million To Help Homeless, Low Income Families In Tri-Counties

The federal government has awarded more than $8 million dollars in grants to help homeless, and low income individuals, and families in the Tri-Counties.

The funding is through three programs, which include Community Development Block Grants, the HOME program, and Emergency Solutions Grants.  The money will help efforts to develop affordable housing, plus support and expand shelters for the homeless.

Santa Barbara County will get close to $2.6 million dollars in funding, San Luis Obispo County nearly $2.5 million dollars, and Ventura County close to $2 million.  The City of Ventura will get $1 million.
