Voters In Central Coast City To Decide Development Issue In November

Posted on Thursday, July 3, 2014 3:58pm

Voters in one Central Coast city are going to get the chance to weigh in on a controversy over development.

The Pismo Beach City Council moved to put a proposal calling for growth restrictions in Price Canyon before voters.

There have been proposals for large scale developments in the agricultural area, which is east of downtown Pismo Beach.

It’s currently outside of the city limits, but could potentially be annexed.

Development opponents gathered enough signatures to qualify the growth limit proposal for the November ballot.

The City Council could have outright adopted the proposal as an ordinance, or put the question to voters.  It opted to leave the issue in the hands of voters.
