A State Parks ranger on routine patrol discovered an abandoned panga boat on the Central Coast, which had been possibly used to smuggle both drugs, and people into the United States from Mexico.
The boat was found on a San Luis Obispo County beach, northwest of San Simeon.
County Sheriff’s deputies say they found some articles of clothing in the boat, and on the beach, but no other signs of people.
They think the boat had been on the beach for 18 to 24 hours when it was found this afternoon.
The boat was 30 to 35 feet long, and equipped with three mothers.
Investigators say signs indicate that both drugs, and people were smuggled into the U.S. on the boat.
