Ventura County Congresswoman Introduces Legislation To Beef Up VA Investigations

Posted on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 12:38am

A Ventura County congresswoman introduced legislation to beef up resources for the office which investigates allegations of negligence, or wrongdoing by the Veterans Administration.

Democratic Congresswoman Julia Brownley of Westlake Village introduced what’s called the VA Investigation and Accountability Act.

It would provide an additional $12 million dollars to the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Veterans Affairs, which recently said it didn’t have the resources to investigate all of the complaints it received.

The VA has been under fire for allegations of massive delays in treatment, a controversy so major it prompted the head of the federal agency to resign last month.
