A summer food program is now underway in one Central Coast community, to try to make sure kids don’t go hungry.
Guadalupe’s Community Food Program provides free breakfasts, and lunches for kids under 18 years old.
There are two sites in the community offering the free meals on weekdays, Mary Buren Elementary School, and Kermit McKenzie Junior High School.
Breakfast is served from 7:30, to 8:15 a.m., and lunches from 11 a.m. until noon.
The free meals will be offered during summer school, which runs from now through July 11th.
During the normal school year, there are program available to help feed low income students.
