Internationally Known Children’s Book Author Dies On Central Coast

A popular children book author has died at his Central Coast home.

Eric Hill created a whole series of books featuring a dog named Spot.

The series started in the late 1970’s, when he created the character, and his first book to entertain his son.

It led to a series of “Spot The Dog” books, and even an animated TV series.

The British author, and illustrator had lived in San Luis Obispo County for the last few decades.

Hill died at his home in Templeton today, following a short illness.

He was 86 years old.
