Well Known Businesswoman, Philanthropist on South Coast Dies

A businesswoman, and philanthropist in Ventura, and Santa Barbara County for decades has died.

In 1932 Myra Irene Harrison, and her late husband E.J. founded E.J. Harrison & Sons, one of the region’s largest waste disposal, and recycling companies.

Over the decades, the Harrisons supported community activities ranging from Little League Teams, to Boys & Girls Clubs.

Harrison died at her home, in Ventura.

She was 99 years old.
