Students Hit By Stomach Bug At Cal Poly San Luis Obispo

Posted on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 3:30pm

Some Central Coast college students may have gotten more than tans while attending a big country music festival in the Coachella Valley.

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s Student Health Center has seen more than two dozens students for norovirus.

All but one of the 28 students with the gastrointestinal issues attended the Stagecoach Music Festival near Palm Springs in late April.

You can get the uncomfortable stomach bug by touching someone who is infected, or touching an infected object, or surface.

Cal Poly students are being urged to wash their hands frequently to try to prevent infection from accidently touching an infected item.
