A brush fire which threatened 200 homes on the Central Coast in the Lompoc area is now at 700 acres of land burned.
The Miguelito Fire is now 5% contained. It began at abou 1:30 Tuesday afternoon on the 2500 block of San Miguelito Road, and spread rapidly. The reverse 911 system was used to help evacuate homes south of Lompoc.
Santa Barbara County firefighters moved quickly to protect homes and other structures in the area, and while it continued to grow, no structures have been reported destroyed, or damaged. All evacuation orders were lifted Tuesday night.
Firefighters are getting a break with the weather, with wind in the 5-10 mile an hour range. But, Wednesday’s forecast is for another day of hot, dry weather.
