Former Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Department Chair Headed To Clemson

A top Ventura County college administrator who was at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for five years has been named Dean of the School of Education at Clemson University.

George Peterson is currently dean of the Graduate School of Education at California Lutheran University, in Thousand Oaks.

Before than, he ran a joint doctoral program an educational leadership with Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara.  From 2005 to 2007, he was chairman of Cal Poly’s College of Education Graduate Studies Department.

Peterson will be the founding dean of the Moore School of Education at Clemson.

He’ll begin work at the South Carolina based university in July.
