An investigation by authororities on the Central Coast has concluded that the death of about two dozen sheep in February was weather related, and not due to neglect.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of possible neglect at Heritage Ranch. The Department concluded after a through review, autopsies on some of the animals, and an independent analysis by an expert, the sheep weren’t neglected.
The report says that because of some havy rain, and high wind, a small number of the herd of 4000 sheep had died. Investigators indicated the sheep were well cared for, and that there was no criminal intent, or criminal negligence involved.
