Three Ventura County men are accused of fixing lottery ticket sales.
Ventura County prosecutors say the three men modified lottery tickets sold at their business, the Donut Queen donut shop in Simi Valley. Investigators say the men scratched off the laminate on the front of California State Lottery scratchers, to reveal the void if removed numbers. Prosecutors say they were then able to use their lottery terminal to tell if the tickets were winners, or losers, keeping and redeeming the winners, while selling the losers.
If convicted of all charges, the three Moorpark men could face up to six years in prison each.
