Details Released About Arrest Made For Bomb Threat To Ventura County Jail Facility

Posted on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 3:01pm

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department has just released details about a bomb threat to a jail facility which led to a lockdown, and massive search of its facilities.

Department officials say that on March 26th, Krystal Lovas of Moorpark made multiple calls to the county’s Pre-Trial Detention Facility, demanding that she be allowed to be allowed to speak to her boyfriend who was jailed at site.  The 31 year old Moorpark woman said in multiple phone calls that she had people stationed outside of the jail complex who would blow it up if her demands were not met.

The detention facility was placed on lockdown, and teams searched the site, but found nothing.

Teams of officers were also sent out to try to find Lovas, who was arrested several hours after the calls started.  She was charged with making a false bomb report.
