Some alert Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies who noticed an unattended vehicle parked in a park at night started to search for the owner, and found he had been seriously injured from a fall while rock climbing.

Bill Coleman told deputies he had gone for a nighttime rock climbing hike in Santa Susana Wednesday night.  The 37 year old man fell about 60 feet down a rock face.  The deputies started to provide emergency first aid before paramedics reached the scene.  Doctors later said that Coleman might have died without the emergency first aid for his multiple injuries.
