Oxnard Files Suit To Try To Recover What it Contends Were Questionable Retirement Benefits

Posted on Thursday, March 20, 2014 12:59am

The City of Oxnard is trying to recover more than $100,000 in retirement benefits from former city officials it claims were improper.

The Pacific Coast Business Times is reporting the city filed a lawsuit last week trying to recover the money from more than a half dozen former officials, ranging from a former public works director, to two former police chiefs.

The suit claims that a former city manager set up additional retirement benefits for some top city officials without properly vetting it through the city council.

The City Council formally moved to end the benefit in 2012.
