Oxnard City Council Holding Special Meeting On Hiring New City Manager

Posted on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 12:03am

The Oxnard City Council is holding a special, closed door meeting today to talk about hiring a permanent City Manager.

The city has been without a permanent person in that post since January of 2012, when longtime City Manager Ed Sotelo was put on paid administrative leave.

Sotelo was on the city’s payroll until February of 2013.  The council never specifically addressed why he was removed from the post.

A specific agenda for the meeting wasn’t released, other than to say that the topic was the City manager’s post.

The special 12:30 meeting will take place at the Residence Inn Oxnard River Ridge.
