Santa Barbara County’s approval of controversial plans to build two large houses on the eastern Gaviota Coast is facing some new challenges.
Santa Barbara County Supervisora approved the homes just east of the area known as Naples last month.
Now, a coalition of opponents is challenging the approval on two fronts.
They are taking the issues to the California Coastal Commission, and are also challenging the environmental impact report in court.
Opponents say they aren’t totally opposing homes on the site, but contend they should be done in a more environmentally conscious way.
