Moorpark College Narrows List For President’s Post To Four Candidates

Posted on Thursday, March 13, 2014 3:34pm

A community college in Ventura County has narrowed its list of candidates to become its new president to four people, and has announced a public forum where the search committee will question the finalists.

The Moorpark College President Search Committee’s list includes Cliff Davis, a Vice Chancellor at Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield, Missouri;  Joyce Ester, who was President of Kennedy-King College in Chicago; Betty Inclan, who was President of Berkeley City College; and Vernon Smith, who was Chief Academic Officer, and Provost at Portmont College at Mount St. Mary’s, which is a cutting edge online college.

The four finalists will be questioned by the committee in a March 26th event at Moorpark College.

Faculty members, staff, students and the community will be able to submit questions for the committee to ask.

The college has been without a permanent president since last summer, when Pam Eddinger left to take a post at Bunker Hill Community College, in Boston.
