Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department Search And Rescue Team Looking For Evidence In Brutal Attack On UCSB Coed

Posted on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 5:23pm

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue Team has been deployed to look for evidence in the brutal rape of a UCSB coed.

The student was so dazed by last weekend’s attack, she was unable to give many details about when, and where the attack occurred.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives say they’ve been able to determine that the 19 year old woman was last seen between midnight, and 12:30 a.m. Sunday walking northbound on Embarcadero Del Mar, in the vicinity of Segovia Road.  The search and rescue team was deployed just after four this afternoon, to search for possible evidence in East Isla Vista, and on a section of the UCSB campus.  It’s still unknown exactly where the attack took place.

The attackers are said to be a group of Asian males.

The victim was released from the hospital, and is home with her family.
