Drought Prompts Restrictions On Fishing On Central Coast

Posted on Friday, February 21, 2014 3:28pm

The drought has prompted the suspension of fishing in sections of some streams, including some on the Central Coast.

State legal affairs officials approved emergency regulations adopted by the State Fish and Game Commission to close streams west of Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo County to angling.

The closure also affects a number of streams in Northern California.

The California Department of Fish And Wildlife received notification this week that state legal official cleared the way for the start of enforcement of the emergency measure.
