Nation’s Largest Cycling Event Coming To Tri-Counties Adds Women’s Competition

The nation’s largest cycling competition, which will once again include some Central and South Coast stops, will for the first time include a professional women’s cycling competition.

The Amgen Tour of California is May 11th-18th this year.  It includes a leg from Pismo Beach to Santa Barbara on Thursday, May 15th, and the overall finish will be in Thousand Oaks on Sunday, May 18th.

On May 11th, female cyclists will compete in a circuit race in Sacramento, and the following day will take part in a time trial competition.  The internationally televised race brings some of the world’s best cyclists to California.
