A push for a new park in one South Coast community led to the purchase of land for the facility. Now, West Ventura residents are being asked to help design Kellogg Park.
The first of five workshops set for the next three months is set to take place Wednesday.
The idea is to get suggestions on what people want to see on the 2.4 acres of land at Kellogg Street, and North Ventura Avenue.
The City is working with the non-profit Trust for Public Land, which originally purchased the property, to preserve it until Ventura could raise the money it needed to buy it.
The trust is now also working with the City to try to get grants for the park’s construction.
The first workshop will take place at 6:30 Wednesday night, at the Bell Arts Factory, which is on the 400 block of North Ventura Avenue, in Ventura.
