Ventura County Finalizes Domestic Partnership Registration Program

Posted on Thursday, February 13, 2014 2:51pm

Ventura County finalized a domestic partnership registration program, meaning same and opposite sex partners will no longer have to go to other counties to register.

Ventura County Supervisors gave final approval to the plan this week, with the County Clerk and Recorder’s Office offering the service starting in March.  The registration is important because many businesses require it before they will provide benefits to domestic partners.

In order to be eligible for registration in the county, at least one of the two partners must work, or live in the county.
