The controversial use of fracking to get to trapped oil, and gas deposits was the focus of a packed California Coastal Commission hearing on the Central Coast.
A new state law put some interim regulations into effect at the beginning of the year, while more comprehensive rules are being developed. The Coastal Commission is trying to figure out what role it should have in the process.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports the hearing was intended as a Commission update, with no action planned…but still, the opinions flowed.
