Posted on Monday, February 3, 2014 12:50pm

A Central Coast therapist accused of robbing a bank is being identified as the victim of a fatal traffic accident.

The CHP reports that Arthur Watkins died Sunday afternoon, when the RV he was driving plunged off of Highway 1 about 25 miles north of Cambria.  The Arroyo Grande man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Watkins was arrested last November, following the robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank branch in Santa Maria at gunpoint.

The 56 year old man was released on bail, and was awaiting a court hearing on multiple charges he was facing from the robbery.
