Santa Barbara County Gets Grant To Help Get Health Insurance For High Risk Population, Like Mentally Ill

Santa Barbara County received a major new grant to try to help enroll, and retain people in Medi-Cal programs.

The State Department of Health Care Services awarded $257,000 to the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department for try to provide health care for people who currently don’t have it.

The county will set up a Benefits Center, which will work with those who are often overlooked, such as the mentally ill, substance abusers, the homeless, and people who have limited English.
