Posted on Friday, January 24, 2014 12:01am

This next story is about a subject which isn’t easy to talk about, and it may not be one for younger ears.

Ventura County Public Health officials say they’re worried about a spike in the number of sexually transmitted disease cases in the county.

The numbers have nearly doubled in the last decade.

Now, the county has launched a new program which allows those being treated for one of the most common types of STD’s to pick up free medication for their partner without a prescription…no questions asked.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports on this effort to try to stop the spread of chlamydia.
