Posted on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 12:29pm

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department reports that a man arrested following a SWAT team incident in Ventura last Saturday is also a suspect in two recent car chases.

Ventura Police arrested Juan Miguel Bejar just before midnight Saturday, following a two hour standoff on the 300 block of West Simpson Street.  Officers learned the wanted parolee might be hiding at the home.

Today, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department said the 30 year old Oxnard man was the person wanted for a pair of high speed chases in Carpinteria, and Ventura.  In the Carpinteria chase December 14th, they say he drove for a brief distance southbound on Highway 101′s northbound lanes, and northbound on the southbound lanes.  No one was hurt.   His wife, and brother were arrested at the scene, but he escaped on foot.
