Ventura County fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause of a potentially dangerous brush fire which started at the Ventura-Los Angeles County line, near Box Canyon Christmas night.
Strong wind in the area threatened to blow the blaze into the mountainous area. Ventura County Fire Captain Mike Lindbery says they took the unusual step of using helicopters from Ventura, and Los Angeles County at night to try to stop the blaze before it could spread.
They contained the fire before it could damage any homes. It ended up burning about eight acres of brush before it was fully contained.
