A well known Ventura County educator has died.

Jarvis Streeter taught religion at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks for 25 years.  He taught a popular class on “Faith and Reason,” and wrote a book about the interaction of theology, and science called “Human Nature, Human Evil, and Religion.”  He was also active in the arts.  Streeter was an actor, and served as President of the Board of the Kingsmen Shakespeare Company, based at CLU.

The Santa Rosa Valley resident had been battling pancreatic cancer for some time.

A community memorial service has been planned for Saturday, January 25th at CLU’s Samuelson Chapel.  Streeter was 64 years old.
