Task Force Receives $1.5 Million Dollars For Gang Prevention, Intervention In Three Santa Barbara County Communities

A task force is getting  a $1.5 million dollar state grant to fight gangs in three Santa Barbara County communities.

The South Coast Task Force on Youth Gangs will receive the money from the California Board of Corrections and Rehabilitation.  The cities of Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, and Lompoc will each receive $500,000 over a two year period for youth gang reduction, intervention, and prevention activities.  The funding will be used for a variety of programs intended to help with the specific anti-gang efforts in each of the cities.
