A pursuit which went through a number of Ventura County communities conveniently ended in the parking lot of the county jail, in Ventura.
It started just before 3 a.m. today, on the northbound 101 Freeway in the Conejo Valley.
A CHP officer saw the vehicle weaving, and tried to pull it over, but the vehicle escaped.
It went on some surface streets in the Conejo Valley area before heading north on the 101 Freeway again, with speeds hitting 100 miles an hour.
The driver got off the 101 Freeway in Ventura, onto Victoria Avenue.
Ventura Police deployed a spike strip, stopping it at the Ventura County Government Center, where the main jail is located.
Norman Salazar of Thousand Oaks was arrested on a DUI charge, as well as for evading a police officer, and for driving with a suspended license.
