Fire Restrictions Eased On Los Padres National Forest

Posted on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 2:40pm

Recent rainfall has eased the fire danger on the Los Padres National Forest, and prompted a lowering of fire restrictions.

Forest Service officials say campfires, and charcoal barbeques will now be allowed in all areas of the national forest.

Campfire permits are still required for campfires outside of designated areas.

Bans on smoking, and target shooting on the forest have also been lifted.

But, some other regulations remain in effect.  Spark arrestors are required on all off road vehicles, chainsaws, and other engines used on the forest.

Also, a permit is required for welding, grinding, or cutting operations on forest land.
