Catholic School Teacher In Ventura County Arrested On Molestation Allegations

Posted on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 3:08pm

A man who had been a math, and science teacher at a Catholic school in Ventura County is now behind bars, in connection with molestation allegations in Texas.

Oxnard Police say they worked with the Navy’s NCIS team, and Ventura County prosecutors to investigate allegations that Jason Christopher Griego had been involved in lewd acts with minors.

After obtaining search warrants, they say they gathered enough evidence for Denton, Texas police to obtain an arrest warrant for aggravated sexual assault on a child.

Detectives say the crimes occurred in Texas, between, 2008, and 2011.  They say there’s no evidence that there were any victims locally.

Griego was arrested in Alameda County, in Northern California, and is being held without bail until he can be extradited to Texas.

The 38 year old man was a teacher at St. Anthony’s School in Oxnard.
