Crosswalk Safety Crackdown In Santa Barbara Leads To 70 Citations

A crackdown on motorists not yielding to pedestrians led to 70 citations in Santa Barbara.

Santa Barbara Police set up special patrols at six intersections in the city today.  It led to 67 citations for the failure to yield to a pedestrian, and three others for prohibited use of a cell phone.

The operation stemmed from numerous citizen complaints about vehicles failing to yield to pedestrians, as well as speeding.
