Teen Wanted For Car Theft Eludes Police Officers, But Not Police Dog In Ventura County

Posted on Monday, November 25, 2013 8:43am

He managed to elude police officers, but a teen wanted for car theft couldn’t escape the discerning nose of a police dog in Ventura County early this morning.

Simi Valley Police were called to the 2400 block of College Street at about 2:15 this morning, by reports of a suspicious vehicle in the Sycamore Park area.  As officers arrived, someone ran from what was a stolen vehicle, and disappeared into the park.  Police set up a perimeter around the park, so the suspect couldn’t escape.

A K-9 team was called out to help, and the dog was able to track down the 16 year old suspect hiding in some thick brush.
