San Luis Obispo County Stepping Up DUI Enforcement Efforts With State Grant

Posted on Monday, November 18, 2013 12:26am

San Luis Obispo County is stepping up its DUI enforcement efforts, using a more than $200,000 state grant.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department is getting $226,000 from the State Office of Traffic Safety, for a year long crackdown on DUI driving.  The County is using the money to buy 40 new portable breath testing devices, and to train law enforcement agencies in the region on how to use them.

Department officials say the new portable devices can document evidence so accurately that it can be used in court.
