Seasonal Temperature Changes Could Impact Smell, Taste Of Water From Lake Casitas

Posted on Thursday, November 14, 2013 12:51am

Seasonal temperature changes could be affecting the smell, and taste of water from a major water provider in Ventura County.

Casitas Municipal Water District officials say the cooling of surface water in Lake Casitas causes it to sink, mixing the water.  The result is the water may smell, and taste slightly different.

District officials say the water is safe to drink, and that refrigerating it may help make the changes less noticeable.  It’s expected the changes could affect the Casitas water supply for the next few weeks.
